Description NAYA Family Center is seeking an analytical, collaborative, and mission-driven Asset Manager to join our Community Development team. This role is responsible for helping ensure that NAYA's affordable housing and commercial real estate portfolio remains financially healthy, operationally strong, physically well maintained, and aligned with the organization's mission. This role will focus on bringing together financial analysis, property performance, compliance, and relationship management to help NAYA make thoughtful decisions about its real estate portfolio. NAYA offers an exceptional benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) with up to 6% match, 16 paid holidays, and sick and vacation accrual that increases with tenure. This is a full-time, exempt position with general working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend events may be required. NAYA employees are expected to work primarily on-site but may work from home 1–2 days per week following successful onboarding and with supervisor approval. The pay rate for this position ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 annually. Who You Are You have knowledge of Native American history and understand the diversity of local American Indian and Alaska Native communities and the Urban Indian experience. You bring at least three years of experience in real estate asset management, property management, affordable housing, finance, accounting, or a related field. You are comfortable analyzing financial statements, operating budgets, property performance, and other data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. You understand that successful affordable housing requires more than financial performance—you value resident experience, stable housing, strong partnerships, and culturally responsive service. You are organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple properties, projects, deadlines, and competing priorities without losing sight of the big picture. You are a thoughtful problem-solver who can identify issues, evaluate options, and work collaboratively toward practical solutions. You are comfortable holding external partners accountable while maintaining positive and productive working relationships with property managers, vendors, consultants, lenders, residents, and public agencies. You communicate clearly and professionally and can translate complex financial or operational information into clear reports, recommendations, and presentations. You have experience working in environments with multiple funding sources, lenders, regulatory requirements, or compliance obligations; affordable housing experience is especially valuable. You are proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with SharePoint and other collaboration platforms is a plus. Experience working with Native American communities, Tribal governments, or Native-serving organizations is strongly preferred. What You'll Do Monitor the financial, operational, and physical performance of NAYA's affordable housing and commercial real estate portfolio. Analyze financial statements, budgets, operating results, and performance indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring attention. Partner with Finance and property management companies to develop, monitor, and update annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor compliance with regulatory agreements, loan documents, funding requirements, and reporting obligations. Build strong relationships with property management companies and establish clear expectations around performance, accountability, and resident experience. Coordinate with Real Estate, Housing and Stabilization Services, Finance, and other NAYA teams to resolve operational challenges and strengthen portfolio performance. Support occupancy and lease-up efforts by coordinating with property management companies, resident services, service partners, and applicants to connect eligible NAYA clients with available housing. Monitor property conditions and capital needs and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement planning. Prepare asset management reports, presentations, meeting materials, and recommendations for NAYA leadership, lenders, investors, and governing bodies. Coordinate procurements and contracts for consultants, vendors, and other professional services supporting the real estate portfolio. Maintain accurate asset management records and documentation while supporting strong systems for long-term portfolio management. Contribute as an active member of the Community Development team and support cross-department collaboration and NAYA's mission to strengthen Native families and communities. Application Instructions Providing a cover letter helps us better understand your experience in real estate, affordable housing, financial analysis, and your interest in joining NAYA, so we encourage you to submit one along with your resume. If you need accommodation during the application process, please email [email protected] . Questions? Want to learn more about this opportunity before applying? Feel free to reach out to Sky Waters , Director of Community Development. NAYA is committed to building a work environment that respects and inspires every community member. Our mission is to serve Urban Native youth and families, so we strongly encourage members of the Native community to apply. We encourage applications from members of other historically marginalized groups as well, including women, people of color, those with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those who have served in the military.
