Assistant Insights Advisor
- Full-Time (35hpw) Ongoing
- Clerk Grade 5/6 ($102,936 - $113,579pa + super + leave loading)
- Location flexible across Haymarket or Parramatta with hybrid working

NSW Fair Trading is looking for an Assistant Insights Advisor to join our Insights unit within Regulatory Intelligence, Data & Insights Division of NSW Fair Trading.
About the team
The Insights unit is a highly motivated and specialist team which leads and manages the design, analysis, and reporting of customer research initiatives to inform regulatory measures, promote community protection and market fairness.
The role includes hybrid working arrangements, with a current requirement to attend in office, once per week at McKell office (Haymarket) and once per week at Parramatta office and on an as-needed basis.
Your day-to-day
- Project manage customer research (data collection, analysis, insights reporting and communication) on the perception and behaviour of the customer to inform business decisions.
- Extract meaningful insights from diverse data sources such as survey and operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for customer-centric improvements.
- Communicate effectively through translating data into clear, concise and engaging stories for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with team members, internal stakeholders / business units to understand information needs, respond to requests and share insights that deliver highest potential impact and benefit to the community.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Degree qualification in a relevant area and/or experience in an insights role within a research agency or in-house environment.
- Experience supporting quantitative research projects.
- Proven experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with project team and stakeholders.
- Experience using Q and Qualtrics would be highly regarded.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, utilising different forms of visualisations and platforms to communicate research findings and insights to key stakeholders.
Essential requirements:
- It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose, you must be an Australian Citizen.
- Satisfactory criminal record check.
Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies.
