Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6
Salary: $102,936 - $113,579 + Superannuation
Location: Any Revenue NSW Location (Parramatta, Gosford, Wollongong, Lithgow or Maitland)

About Revenue NSW

About the Team
These roles sit within the Duties Compliance team, part of the Taxes and Grants Division at Revenue NSW. We undertake assessments, revenue collection, enquiries, investigations and client education services. We administer grants and use our expertise to research, develop and implement programs to make it easier for our customers to comply.
Our work includes compliance activities, customer service, debt recovery, stakeholder engagement, and education services. We support customers to meet their tax obligations and identify underpayment and non‑compliance through audits and investigations.
Your day-to-day
Opportunities are available across multiple teams within the Duties Compliance team. As a result, your day today responsibilities may vary depending on the team you join.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administer state tax legislation, make assessments and decisions on complex matters and
- Provide legislative and procedural advice to clients and client representatives to ensure they comply with state tax obligations
- Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules to ensure consistency and accuracy in administration of legislation
- Gather information and undertake research, analysis and compliance audits/investigations
- Case management and the preparation of detailed submissions and reports
- Contribute to innovation and the development and implementation of improved processes.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Interpreting and administering state tax legislation, providing accurate legislative and procedural advice on complex matters to taxpayers and their representatives
- Researching and analysing information from multiple sources to conduct audits and investigations
- Managing cases end‑to‑end, including preparing high‑quality correspondence, submissions and investigation reports
- Coaching and developing staff through the provision of technical, procedural and business rule guidance to ensure consistent and accurate legislative administration
- Demonstrating a proactive approach with strong time‑management
skills to achieve business outcomes and key performance indicators
