Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Overview As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be Working within the commercial reactive and minor works team and assisting the operational side to ensure successful delivery of the Framework contract. while maintaining relationships, to maximise commercial returns & manage risk. Responsibilities As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following accountabilities: · Carry out the following under supervision: o Prepare tenders – measure, put into packages, analyse o Prepare variations/valuations o Prepare Final Accounts o Prepare s/c valuations & Final Accounts o Site measurement o Attend site/subcontractor meetings · Liaise with site management · Take responsibility for: o Maintaining site records, control documents o Measuring progress on site o Preparing application for payment to client · Consider Risk & opportunity · CVR - Assist QS / SQS as required – exposure to increase as capability develops. AQS will be able to prepare without 3rd party input ahead of promotion. · Understand & assist in the implementation of the commercial strategy for the portfolio. · At all times act in a suitable & professional manner · Involved with & take some responsibility on traditional contracts · Involvement but no responsibility for: · Negotiation with subcontractors o Interpretation of contract law o Simple D&B/CDP o D&B Contracts Experience · Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools · Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement · Have experience of using schedule of rates for preparing quotations and applications for payment · Demonstrate potential for clear written & oral communications · Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness · Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills Qualifications Required Qualifications/Training · Completed or currently undertaking a degree in Quantity Surveying. · CVR appreciation · Presentation & communication skills Desirable Qualifications / Training: · HNC / HND in Quantity Surveying Additional Information Competitive Salary with yearly increase 26 days holiday (option to purchase 5 more) Employer pension Travel expenses Flexible and remote working Enhanced parental leave Professional and Educational development Our people are at the heart of our success and our proposition to them is work with purpose, have time for life, build a career with no limits and surround yourself with great people.
