Assistant Regional Accountant - Germany (m/f/d) Support accurate regional accounting at Victrex, managing transactions, reconciliations, compliance and reporting while helping safeguard the business and strengthen financial operations. The role: To support the transactions function in order to ensure acceptable levels of service are provided to both internal and external customers and transactions are recorded on a timely and accurate basis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the regional accounting system in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedure to ensure the timely provision of financial information and to safeguard the business and its assets. What you will be responsible for: Financial Accounting – Responsible for financial accounting for local entities ensuring adherence to accounting standards, policies and procedures in order to deliver an accurate and timely monthly financial statement. Transactional Processing: Invoices and Purchase Orders – Responsible for the accurate and prompt processing of invoices, purchase orders, cash payments and receipts through the relevant purchase ledger Payments - Responsible for processing weekly payment runs ensuring all controls are adhered to. This includes ensuring that all payments are raised and authorised in line with relevant policies and processes Fixed Assets - Maintain the fixed asset register, ensure accurate capitalization of assets, calculate and post depreciation, support asset disposals and transfers, and reconcile asset balances in accordance with company policies and accounting standards Ledger control – Responsible for prompt and accurate reconciliation of ledgers (including cash, purchase and receivables ledgers) and maintaining “clean” ledgers including clearing aged items, investigating and clearing debit balances on purchase ledger and credit balances on receivables ledger and reporting these through KPIs Credit Review – Responsible for the credit management of customers in region to ensure timely collection of cash, to minimise Group credit risk and comply with Group procedures, collating information for the Regional Finance Manager to approve credit checks/credit limit changes Debtor Management – Responsible for managing customer accounts, issuing invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, allocating receipts, following up on overdue payments, resolving account queries, reconciling debtor accounts, and supporting cash flow through effective credit control procedures Reporting - Preparation and submission of tax returns for affiliated companies, performance of intercompany reconciliations and resolution of identified discrepancies. Oversight of customs certificates and import VAT compliance Support of month-end and year-end closing activities Regional Compliance – Responsible for ensuring local compliance with Group processes and procedures (i.e. expenses, procurement and general GAM compliance) Audit (Internal and External) - Responsible for supporting Audit, including liaison with auditors and the preparation of audit package in order to ensure reporting requirements are met What we are looking for: Completed apprenticeship in a commercial field or a degree in economics Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and local accounting regulation Working knowledge of tax compliance, including VAT and statutory reporting requirements Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Fluent in German (written and verbal) Fluent in English (written and verbal), multiple languages desirable Working knowledge of MS tools and finance ERP systems Progressive knowledge of local accounting and tax legislation at part-qualified level and working towards higher attainment About Victrex Victrex is an innovative world leader in high-performance PEEK and PAEK polymer solutions focusing on the strategic markets of automotive, aerospace, energy (including manufacturing and engineering), electronics and medical.
