Under the direction of the Brand Manager, the Associate Brand Manager (ABM) will be a key brand team member, supporting brand strategy and day-to-day execution for the bagged tea portfolio. The ABM will wear many hats, helping translate consumer, retail, category and business insights into actionable recommendations that support brand growth and strengthen brand equity. This person will act as business analyst, project manager, cross-functional partner, and consumer advocate across the organization.
This role is ideal for a curious, analytical, and collaborative marketer who is ready to take initiative, learn a CPG business from the inside, and grow into a brand and business ownership role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate as a Business Owner
- Act as data champion – analyze consumer, retail, category, and market data to monitor health of business, identify opportunities and translate insights to drive strategy and direction
- Demonstrate understanding of key business drivers for the portfolio, especially when evaluating new formats, channels, and packaging configurations.
- Partner with Sales, Shopper & Customer Marketing, Category Management, R&D and external partners to identify and execute strategic growth opportunities and bring brand initiatives to life.
- Manage day-to-day business needs, including budget tracking, packaging and marketing collateral updates and cross-functional team projects; serve as a point person for the communications team on execution of brand campaigns.
Support Brand Strategy & Planning
- Support monthly Product/Portfolio Management Review (as part of the Integrated Business Planning Process) by gathering data, identifying trends and working with the Brand Manager to provide strategic recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Assist the Brand Manager with the creation and execution of annual business review and brand planning. Serve as data champion and bring forward strategic insights to strengthen brand equity and accelerate volume, revenue, and share growth.
- Bring a consumer-first and data-informed point of view to discussions about brand strategy, growth opportunities, and business performance.
- Assist in deployment of marketing plans and packaging updates; work with external agencies as well as cross-functional teams on creative development and logistics
- Connect big picture strategy to executional details, including identifying areas for optimization.
Project Management
- Manage or support key brand and marketing projects from planning through execution, with clear timelines, next steps, and stakeholder communication. Projects, including, but not limited to:
- Shopper/retail materials – serve as first point of review for creative requests; work with shopper marketing team to deliver feedback, manage edits and ensure content reflects brand guidelines and strategic priorities.
- Social media content reviews – provide brand input and feedback in monthly review meetings, work closely with digital team to approve content, share upcoming initiatives and maintain brand voice.
- Drive awareness & trial of masterbrand through sampling program management; act as liaison between TM and sample program vendors, manage budget expectations and logistics; see project through to market
- Packaging optimization—lead packaging updates of assigned portfolio when needed.
- Track & execute packaging changes for consistency across the line and manage process according to packaging production timelines.
Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive key projects and initiatives
- Serve as a passionate steward, advocate, and gatekeeper for the Traditional Medicinals brand across all channels, formats, and touchpoints.
- Build strong working relationships across teams and nurture a collaborative consumer-oriented culture.
- Champion our consumers and customers across all projects and initiatives
- Serve as a confident thought partner for the business by learning the category, understanding the consumer and connecting insights to action.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-4 years of experience in brand marketing or communications, preferably in the CPG space
- Familiarity with data analytics, innovation, consumer insights, packaging development, and market research processes
- Experience working with syndicated data sources and business reporting tools such as SPINS, Power BI, IRI or Nielsen; curiosity and willingness to build fluency with data are essential.
- Experience with e-commerce channels (Amazon & DTC) highly preferred.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
- This position operates in a professional open cubical office environment. Will be required to frequently communicate with others and routinely uses computer and standard office equipment. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Working Location Requirements:
- This position is based in Rohnert Park, CA. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 pm. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to occasionally work remotely. Expected in-offices days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Subject to change.
