A Day in the Life

Medtronic is a global healthcare technology company developing innovative medical technologies that improve patient outcomes and help address some of the world’s most complex healthcare challenges. The role of Associate Clinical Safety Specialist offers an opportunity to build experience in clinical data, clinical safety and regulated medical device environments while working with cross-functional teams.

Primary responsibilities:

• Support the design and implementation of clinical data collection studies and systems.
• Support clinical protocol and Case Report Form (CRF) development.
• Review clinical data and resolve discrepancies to ensure data quality.
• Develop and maintain data quality plans and validation processes.
• Analyse clinical data to identify trends, issues and potential areas for follow-up.
• Collaborate with internal teams on clinical database review and data management activities.
• Prepare clinical trial reports for internal validation and review.
• Ensure clinical data activities are aligned with relevant processes, standards and requirements.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Biomedical Sciences, Data/Statistics or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to agreed timelines.
• Interest in clinical research, clinical data or medical devices.

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experience or academic exposure to clinical research, clinical data management or clinical trials.
• Knowledge of clinical protocols, CRFs or clinical databases.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting or data validation tools.
• Familiarity with GCP, medical device regulations or other regulated healthcare environments.
• Experience working with healthcare or medical device companies.
