Associate College Counselor

Role Description The Associate College Counselor is a remote, contract role focused on supporting high school students through the college exploration and application process. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding students in building balanced college lists, advising on application requirements, and supporting the development of personal statements and supplemental essays. The role involves providing individualized counseling sessions, tracking student progress, and coordinating timelines to ensure materials are submitted accurately and on schedule. The Associate College Counselor may also help students and families understand scholarship opportunities, and admission policies for institutions in different regions. Collaboration with senior counselors, documentation of counseling activities, and maintaining clear, professional communication with students and families are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in College Counseling and working directly with High School Students in academic or advisory settings.
• Knowledge of College Applications processes, including timelines, essay requirements, standardized testing considerations, and international admissions nuances.
• Skills in Student Counseling, with the ability to provide guidance, encouragement, and clear structure tailored to diverse student backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to give constructive feedback on essays and application materials. Native Turkish speaker perferred.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with comfort managing multiple students and deadlines in a remote environment.
• Experience working with internationally diverse student populations; familiarity with US, UK and other international higher education systems is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Communications, or a related field; prior work in school counseling, college advising, or educational consulting is preferred.
