Job Summary:
Bionano is seeking an experienced professional who will be a critical leader of clinical and scientific activities for Europe and other regions outside of North America. The primary responsibility for this role will be fostering vibrant communities of practice and expanding collaborative networks for scientists and organizations to share their techniques, applications, and breakthroughs leveraging Bionano technology. This role is also responsible for supporting expanding commercial activities in all markets outside North America (European focus) by leading coordination of evidence generation for future market access initiatives, user groups, and all European congress activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and grow regional user communities, including local networks, user meetings, training programs, and shared-learning forums that deepen scientific exchange.
- Establish and manage scientific advisory panels of external experts to gather customer and scientific insights, ideas, and perspectives.
- Lead Bionano's European scientific congress strategy and execution, maximizing scientific presence at relevant meetings, workshops, and symposia (content not logistics responsibility). Increase customer participation in conferences, presentations, and publications by identifying, supporting, and recognizing their scientific work.
- Manage and develop plans for future market access activities by coordinating evidence generation in existing and new geographies.
- Provide scientific and technical presales support alongside Bionano and distributor sales teams.
- Provide product management insights based on current and future market expectations
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Support, and distributor teams to equip them with scientific content.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of the European regulatory landscape for RUO products and clinical products.
- Demonstrated ability to build communities, influence scientific audiences, and lead people.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, strong public speaking skills with the ability to handle objections and communicate both technical and business arguments.
- Ability to travel 20%, work independently, and cooperatively in a cross functional team approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Fluent English; French or Spanish strongly preferred. Additional language skills will strengthen candidate fit.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- PhD in genomics, genetics, molecular biology, or a related field.
- 5+ years in the genomics industry, with deep technical knowledge of genomic technologies and applications. 1-2 years working with European research and clinical-laboratory markets, and familiarity with cytogenetics and molecular genetics laboratory workflows.

- Stand and/or move about the office or in various environments (including tight and confined spaces), or from one worksite to another;
- Specific visual abilities, including close vision and ability to adjust focus, read, review and assess the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned;
- Verbal abilities require communicating with others to exchange information;
- Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions;
- Work environment involving low/high temperatures; hazardous conditions, low ventilation, noisy environments, small/enclosed spaces.
