Associate Director of Admissions Reports to: Director of Admissions Direct Reports: Enrollment Coordinator (Permanent), Seasonal Staff Member (Seasonal) Start Date: ASAP Role Purpose The Associate Director of Admissions serves as a key leader within the admissions department, contributing to the yield of applicants across the Bank Street graduate portfolio, overseeing critical operational workflows and driving digital engagement strategies that enhance the institution’s recruitment reach. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of online and on-campus recruitment and yield events and maintains a high level of authority in the selection and evaluation of the incoming cohort. Key Responsibilities ● Admissions Leadership & Strategy: Support the development and execution of strategic recruitment plans to meet enrollment targets. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (academic departments, financial aid, student services) to ensure a seamless applicant experience. Represent the institution at recruitment events, college fairs, high school visits, and virtual sessions. Analyze admissions data and trends to inform outreach strategies and improve yield rates. ● Application Review & Decisioning: Act as a primary reader for applications; evaluate candidate files against institutional standards and make final admissions determinations in partnership with program directors. ● Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the Enrollment Coordinator and seasonal staff, ensuring high performance and professional development. Oversee the admissions work of student ambassadors, collaborating with their supervisor on workload and alignment. ● Events Management: Lead the planning and execution of online and on-campus admissions events, including open houses, information sessions, webinars, and yield programs. Cultivate and manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders (faculty, academic departments, student services, and marketing teams) to ensure cohesive programming and alignment with institutional goals. Ensure participant experience is centered in all communications and during the event. Oversee all aspects of event delivery, including logistics, communications, and attendee experience, while ensuring a high level of professionalism and brand consistency. Implement structured post-event follow-up strategies to convert interest into applications and maximize yield from event participation. ● Digital Content Leadership: Develop and manage video and other digital assets for recruitment; collaborate with Marketing/Strategic Communications on social media engagement to support event promotion and other recruitment. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to maintain brand consistency. ● Partner Program Management: Act as the primary lead for partner programs, maintaining high-level relationships and ensuring program-specific admissions goals are met. Lead regular stakeholder meetings to ensure timelines are being met, there is alignment across internal and external constituencies, and proactively problem solve. ● Operations Oversight: Oversee the transcript collection process, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and timely processing to reduce bottlenecks in the application review cycle. Qualifications ● A bachelor’s degree is required. ● A valid driver’s license is required. ● Ability to participate in recruitment travel throughout the year ● Must have 3-5 years of relevant work experience; experience in recruitment, admissions, or student services is preferred. ● Experience with Slate (Technolutions) is preferred. ● Information sessions typically take place in the evenings and are a necessary part of the role - candidates must be able to do some work in the evenings for these and other events. ● Unless working an event, work days are Monday through Friday and typically 9 am to 5 pm with three days in the office. ● Ability to connect authentically with prospective students and diverse audiences. ● Collaborative mindset with a proactive, results-oriented approach. ● Works independently and takes ownership of tasks, acts as a proactive problem-solver focused on business goals, and collaborates effectively as part of a cohesive team. ● Demonstrated ability to problem solve. ● Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. ● Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. ● Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills. ● Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing platforms). ● Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment adhering to deadlines.
