The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to improving access and service to customers. The manager functions as an integral member of the health care team to reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. The manager operationalizes the strategic plan of the Medical Center to improve access and services to our customers (consumers and physicians) and to ensure reimbursement of hospital services provided.
Position Summary
The precert technology manager is responsible for project planning and technology development, work queue and productivity optimization for all areas of the Medical Center. The precert technology manager implements new technology for optimizing the precertification process. This includes notification of admission, internal and external BOT technology, leveraging hospital billing system (EPIC) technology such as EmPA, ASA etc. The precert technology manager is the SME for external insurance company processes and portals and how technology can be deployed and maximized in hospital billing system.
The manager assists with the implementation of new programs, assures the development of outcome measurements and assures compliance with JCAHO standards and other regulatory agencies. Must be able to evaluate complex issues and understand escalation procedures. Displays the highest level of customer service, attentiveness and consideration possible in all cases.
QUALIFICATION FOR HIRING
Bachelor’s degree required. Health care experience desired. Prior demonstration of leadership and management skills. Computer experience required. Knowledge of applications and systems demonstrates proficiency. Strong demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills. Sense of professionalism, ability to win confidence of those at various levels of the organization.
