The Associate Director, Product Management leads the Product Management function for Associate Technology Experience (ATX), developing product talent and strengthening the practices, capabilities, and operating model needed to deliver measurable associate and business outcomes. This leader guides Product Managers in discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, data-driven decision-making, and product performance measurement.Working across Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, Operations, and other partners, the Associate Director improves how product teams identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver value. Success is measured by stronger product teams, better product decisions and outcomes, and a more mature and effective Product Management organization.
The Associate Director, Product Management leads the Product Management function for Associate Technology Experience (ATX). This role is responsible for developing product talent, strengthening product management capabilities, and improving how teams use customer insights, experience data, and performance measures to deliver measurable outcomes for associates and the business.
Leading a team of Product Managers, this leader establishes and advances the practices, expectations, and operating model that enable high-quality discovery, roadmap development, product decision-making, and outcome measurement across the ATX product portfolio. The successful candidate brings experience leading Product Managers, improving product management practices, and building high-performing product organizations that use customer insights and data to make better product decisions.
Working closely with Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, Operations, and other cross-functional partners, the Associate Director improves how product teams identify opportunities, prioritize investments, measure outcomes, and deliver value for associates. Success in this role is defined by stronger product teams, better product decisions, improved product outcomes, and a more mature and effective Product Management organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Product Management function for Associate Technology Experience (ATX), establishing clear expectations, standards, and accountability for the product team.
- Develop, coach, and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers through hiring, performance management, mentorship, and career development.
- Improve the quality and consistency of product discovery, roadmap development, prioritization, and product decision-making, ensuring teams focus on the highest-value opportunities for associates and the business.
- Advance product management maturity by defining and evolving product practices, operating mechanisms, governance, and ways of working that improve effectiveness, transparency, and organizational alignment.
- Strengthen the integration of customer research, experience measurement, analytics, operational insights, and market trends into product decisions, prioritization, and investment recommendations.
- Establish and continuously evolve the product performance framework for ATX, defining outcome measures, product health indicators, adoption metrics, customer experience signals, and operational measures.
- Strengthen product go-to-market and lifecycle practices by ensuring new capabilities are effectively communicated, customer impacts are understood, adoption strategies are defined, and product value is clearly demonstrated.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, Operations, and other cross-functional leaders to align priorities, inform tradeoff decisions, and improve product outcomes.
- Provide product leadership and recommendations that inform strategic planning, roadmap direction, and organizational priorities while ensuring product teams remain aligned to ATX objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, including responsibility for product discovery, roadmap development, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and measurement of customer and business outcomes.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and building high-performing teams.
- Experience leading Product Managers responsible for enterprise technology products, services, or platforms, including products that are configured, integrated, or enabled through third-party technologies and vendor solutions.
- Demonstrated success advancing product management maturity through the development of product practices, operating models, governance, performance measurement, and talent capabilities.
- Experience building and scaling product organizations that use customer insights, experience data, analytics, and outcome measures to inform product decisions and prioritization.
- Demonstrated ability to define, monitor, and use product health metrics, adoption measures, customer experience indicators, and business outcomes to evaluate performance and guide investment decisions.
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, and Operations leaders to align priorities and improve product outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, operational considerations, and technical constraints.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing enterprise technology products, employee experiences, digital workplace capabilities, or internal-facing product portfolios, including products and services enabled through vendor platforms, commercial software, or third-party technology ecosystems.
- Experience with service management, knowledge management, employee support, onboarding, productivity, or workplace technology experiences.
- Experience introducing, scaling, or managing AI-enabled products, copilots, intelligent assistants, or enterprise productivity technologies.
- Experience establishing or leading Product Operations capabilities, including product planning, governance, product performance measurement, and portfolio visibility.
- Experience working within large, highly matrixed organizations where product success depends on influencing stakeholders across multiple business and technology teams.
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, Product Management, Human-Centered Design, or a related field and/or experience.

Typically requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, 6+ years of product management and 3+ years of management experience.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
