Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing - Finished Goods
Location: Lucerne, Switzerland (Hybrid)
About the Role
As the global category leader for Finished Goods, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sourcing strategy that supports Carrier's business objectives while optimizing cost, availability, quality, innovation, and speed-to-market.
Working closely with regional procurement teams, engineering, operations, product management, and business leaders, you will lead strategic initiatives that enhance competitiveness and ensure consistent execution across our global network.
This role reports into the Global Procurement organization and is based in Lucerne, Switzerland.
What You'll Do:
Lead Global Category Strategy
· Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy for Carrier's Finished Goods category.
· Drive productivity, cost optimization, supplier competitiveness, and working capital improvements.
· Lead sourcing events, supplier selection processes, and commercial negotiations.
· Align regional procurement teams around global strategies, governance, and best practices.
· Deliver sourcing initiatives that support profitable growth and operational excellence.
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for OEM systems and finished goods that enhance competitiveness, support growth, drive innovation, and ensure supply continuity across Carrier's global portfolio.
Build Strategic Supplier Partnerships
· Develop and manage relationships with key global suppliers.
· Negotiate agreements covering cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and sustainability objectives.
· Drive supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning, dual sourcing strategies, and supplier diversification.
· Drive supplier risk management strategies that enhance supply chain resilience through proactive mitigation, diversification, and continuity planning.
Influence Innovation and Business Growth
· Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and regional business teams.
· Leverage supplier capabilities, industry trends, and market intelligence to support innovation.
· Balance global sourcing priorities with regional business needs and customer requirements.
· Support new product introductions and strategic growth initiatives.
What We're Looking For
· Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
· 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain leadership.
· Proven success developing and implementing global category strategies.
· Experience managing supplier relationships and leading complex negotiations.
· Strong stakeholder management skills within matrix organizations.
· Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
· Fluent English language skills.
· Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 15-20%).
Preferred Qualifications
· MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
· CPSM, MCIPS, or similar professional procurement certification.
· Experience within industrial manufacturing, HVAC, automotive, medical devices, or related sectors.
· Additional European language skills.

Pay Range:
