The Highlights:

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Student Success and Accreditation (AP-SSA), the ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR serves as a project manager and thought partner to the Associate Provost. In this capacity, the Associate Director develops and maintains accreditation documentation, oversees reporting timelines, and implements projects and communications related to accreditation, assessment, and student success initiatives of Academic Affairs. The Associate Director is instrumental in managing the university’s accreditation compliance by providing managerial and project management expertise to the portfolio of Student Success and Accreditation, with special attention to Academic Program Review (APR), including learning assessment outcomes, and overall accreditation support. The Associate Director also provides financial management to the APR and Student Success segments of the Associate Provost’s financial portfolio. Additionally, this position supervises one administrative team member. As with all roles in Academic Affairs, this position is expected to develop strong enterprise-wide relationships to bring about appropriate action/resolutions related to student success and accreditation business matters and partners extensively with the Associate Provost and various academic units.

What You'll Do:

  • Management, Accreditation, Assessment, and Records Compliance.
    • Develop and maintain detailed timelines of all university accreditation reporting requirements, and guide units across DePaul (academic and co-curricular) to create (if needed) and to adhere to required reporting schedules.
    • Manage historical and ongoing files that are required for maintenance of accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, including maintenance of DePaul’s specialized accreditation and licensure documentation and webpages.
    • Initiate and schedule complete itineraries for on-campus and near-campus activities of reviewers for both Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation and annual Academic Program Review cycles.
    • Support the Center for Teaching and Learning’s Assessment Consultant in review and revision, and Catalog presentation, of learning outcomes of units across DePaul.
    • Manage expenses related to accreditation and APR activities, and process expense items (reimbursements, external reviewer honoraria, food and beverages, awards, etc.).
    • Manage one direct report - the Academic Program and System Administrator – setting annual goals and prioritizing long-term plans.
    • Create quarterly and annual reports about assessment for DePaul leadership, including content developed by the Associate Provost for Student Success and Accreditation and others about changes in federal, state, and local accreditation policies.
  • Student Success and Retention Initiatives Support.
    • Coordinate cross-functional student success initiatives with the Division of Student Affairs, Office of Financial Aid, University Registrar, college offices, and other university partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration and improvement.
    • Support AP-SSA by developing robust update presentations about student success initiatives for Advising Managers Board, Associate Deans Council, and other committees.
    • Create regular communications (email, newsletters, etc.) about awards and accomplishments associated with Academic Affairs student success initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate processing of receipts and expense items related to student success (meeting expenses, honoraria, and awards, etc.).
    • Maintain files associated with Academic Affairs student success efforts (e.g., notes of Advising Managers Board and other meetings, as needed).
    • Occasional development and facilitation of surveys and focus groups of students.
  • Manages 1 full-time Academic Affairs Academic Program & System Administrator.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking Departmental Operating Budgets approximating $890,000

What You'll Need:

  • Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.).
  • Minimum. 2 - 4 years of experience in higher education office environments and substantial experience with office productivity tools.
  • Must be able to set and meet deadlines and motivate others to do so.
  • Must be committed to collaborative teamwork style and diversity in the workplace.
  • Experience working successfully in higher education on short- and long-term projects; experience in database maintenance; experience with CRM and visual design tools.
  • Conversant in Microsoft Office products; preferred experience with PeopleSoft and Tableau.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated project/program management skills.
  • Fluent in basic budgeting process documentation.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices in higher education.

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $50,174 to $75,296/year.

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
