Associate Engineer (Front End)

The role

As an Associate Engineer, you will help supercharge small businesses by writing clean, reliable code and delivering well-defined features that directly support our product outcomes. Working alongside senior engineers, you will solve day-to-day technical challenges, design tests to ensure high quality, and debug code using logs and dashboards to maintain system health.

By bringing curiosity and a data-driven mindset, you will help keep our systems robust and aligned with customer needs. You will take ownership of your work, proactively share knowledge, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive environment where continuous learning drives success.

Our engineering teams work collaboratively to build and maintain scalable technology for small businesses. We value open communication, thoughtful discussion, and working together across functions to remove blockers and solve problems efficiently.

The team is currently working on

• Developing front end features using HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+) with React

• Integrating front end applications with back end REST APIs

• Utilising modern delivery and collaboration practices such as pair programming and continuous improvement

• Exploring artificial intelligence tools to increase efficiency and automate routine tasks

Here are some of the things we are looking for

• Hands-on experience building web applications using modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

• Practical exposure to React and an understanding of connecting front end interfaces to REST APIs

• Comfort navigating version control using Git and participating in pull request code reviews

• A sharp eye for UI/UX details, quality standards, and confidence debugging code locally

• Curiosity about leveraging AI tools to streamline everyday workflows and tasks

• Familiarity with TypeScript, testing frameworks (like Jest or Cypress), component libraries, or web accessibility principles is a plus

The expected base salary range for this role is $109,100 - $136,400 CAD
