Associate Frontend Engineer

We are looking for an Associate Frontend Engineer to support our technical work for a major South African retail group that is currently expanding. This role focuses on building clear, functional interfaces that help our clients track decisions and manage internal rhythms. As a remote member of our team, you will contribute to tools that make management tasks easier to handle and more transparent for leadership.

About the Role

You will work closely with our consultants to build interfaces that help leadership teams at our retail client see where priorities stall and where responsibility lies. Instead of complex dashboards, we build lean tools that focus on clarity and utility. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone early in their career who wants to apply technical skills to practical business problems.

What You Will Do

• Translate basic design requirements into clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build and maintain reusable components for our internal management tools.
• Ensure that the interfaces we build are responsive and accessible for all users.
• Work with the advisory team to understand how clients use our tools to track decisions.
• Write clear, readable code that other team members can easily understand.
• Participate in remote code reviews to learn from colleagues and maintain quality.
• Troubleshoot small bugs and make iterative improvements to existing features.
• Document technical choices so that the logic behind a feature is easy to follow.
