You'll be joining the Growth team, which owns merchant onboarding and activation: everything between a new account and a first live payment. It's a newly formed team taking on a new product area for Primer, so there's a lot of scope to shape both what we build and how. Primer is remote-first and globally distributed — always will be. What will you be doing? Ship frontend features for the self-serve onboarding and platform experience, with support from more senior engineers on scoping and architecture Work in React building the dashboard experience merchants use to onboard with Primer Learn from a hands-on senior frontend engineer who's setting the team's conventions and standards as you go Deploy your own features to production and track their impact once they're live Get real exposure to how a merchant's first experience with Primer is designed and built, working closely with Design Contribute to the Python backend where useful — no prior backend experience required, just a willingness to get stuck in when needed What we're looking for Experience shipping production frontend features, with growing autonomy and less need for hand-holding on the basics Comfortable writing tests and thinking through edge cases and error handling, even if you still lean on others for the trickier ones Genuine interest in the onboarding/activation space — the details of a merchant's first experience matter here Willingness to contribute to backend Python code if required Nice to have, not required: Previous React experience Experience building or integrating payment products What you should be aware of: Early-stage team means some ambiguity on process and tooling that a more established team would already have solved Remote-first, high autonomy, no hand-holding — expect to figure things out rather than follow an existing playbook ✅ A typical interview process An initial intro call with a Talent Partner An interview with the Hiring Manager Challenge Stage - Contextualised to the role A final, values-alignment interview What's the culture like at Primer?
