We’re a fully remote, 80+ person studio made up of seriously talented individuals from all over the world who love games and creating exceptional experiences for players.

We’re looking for an Associate Gameplay Animator to help create high-quality, responsive character animations that bring our games to life. Working alongside designers, riggers, programmers, and fellow animators, you’ll contribute to locomotion, traversal, combat, and other gameplay systems using both hand-keyed animation and motion capture data. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your technical skills by implementing animations directly in-engine and learning from experienced members of the team.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career animator with strong fundamentals, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine interest in creating animations that both look great and feel responsive during gameplay.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating high-quality character animations for locomotion, traversal, combat, and other gameplay systems
  • Working with both hand-keyed animation and motion capture data
  • Integrating and testing animations directly in-engine
  • Working with animation state machines, blend trees, and animation layers
  • Collaborating with designers, riggers, programmers, and fellow animators to balance visual quality with responsive gameplay
  • Supporting motion capture shoots and assisting with motion capture data cleanup
  • Testing animations in context and responding to feedback from the wider development team
  • Assisting with troubleshooting animation and implementation issues under the guidance of senior team members
  • Learning and working with proprietary tools and established animation pipelines
  • Contributing to the continued improvement of animation workflows and overall gameplay quality

What you'll bring to the team:

  • 1+ years of professional production experience, or equivalent junior, internship, or game development experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Maya, including animation layers and the Graph Editor
  • A strong understanding of realistic body mechanics, weight, timing, and character performance
  • An understanding of how animation supports responsive and engaging gameplay
  • A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating your character animation skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A detail-oriented approach to your work
  • A willingness to receive feedback, continue learning, and develop your technical skills
  • The ability to work effectively within a collaborative, remote-first team

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience using Unreal Engine or Unity
  • Familiarity with MotionBuilder
  • Experience working with and cleaning up motion capture data
  • Familiarity with gameplay animation systems and in-engine implementation
  • A love of playing and creating video games

Please note: For Irish residents, this role is offered as a full-time employee position. For applicants based outside of Ireland, the role will be offered on a contractor basis. We are a remote-first company and are committed to hiring the best candidate for the role, regardless of where you are located. If you are outside our company’s home base, that’s okay with us.
