At Lilly, the work is demanding because patients are waiting. We unite caring with discovery to help make life better for people around the world, knowing that every decision, every detail, and every day matters. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, our over 50,000 employees around the globe take on complex challenges to discover and deliver life-changing medicines, strengthen how health is understood and managed, and support the communities we serve. This is hard, urgent, selfless work—but it’s work worth doing. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that truly matters for patients, we invite you to join us.
This role brings Lilly’s voice to life across our corporate social and digital channels as a hands-on content creator — making sure everything we publish looks and sounds unmistakably like Lilly: human, caring, and centered on the people we serve. It’s a rare opportunity to make a global company’s purpose — making life better — feel human in every post, on every platform.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital & Social Media, Global Communications, this role pairs strong craft with sound editorial judgment — turning ideas and enterprise priorities into social-first content that builds community, extends reach, and connects with audiences.
This is a maker’s role for someone who can take a story from concept to published post, writing, producing, and shaping content for the channel it lives on, and continually raising the quality and creativity of the work.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
· Create platform-native content—writing, producing, and editing for each channel across formats, including helping direct short-form video, social-first storytelling, graphics, and long-form content like blogs, in alignment with editorial strategy and the calendar.
· Own content workstreams end to end, from concept and drafting through review, publishing, and performance follow-up, against the editorial calendar.
· Translate enterprise priorities and complex topics into clear, engaging stories that reflect Lilly’s voice and resonate with target audiences.
· Maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and quality standard across content, applying editorial guidance from the Senior Director, Digital & Social Media.
· Ensure content is optimized for both traditional search and AI-generated answers—applying emerging best practices for how brands show up in LLM-powered search.
· Use AI-enabled tools to support ideation, drafting, and production, enhancing the speed and quality of the work without compromising craft.
· Monitor content performance and audience response, applying insights to sharpen and improve future content.
· Support community management and audience engagement across platforms, helping the team move at the speed of the conversation.
· Collaborate with designers, video producers, and digital operations partners to bring content to life and ensure it publishes cleanly and on time.
· Partner with teams across Global Communications to support priority narratives, launches, and landmarks with timely, high-quality content.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in social media, content creation, digital storytelling, editorial, or brand journalism, preferably in a corporate, agency, or newsroom setting.
• Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
Additional Skills/Preferences
· Strong writing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of social-first and digital content across formats.
· Hands-on experience creating content for social and digital platforms, with a clear understanding of what performs on each.
· Familiarity with content creation and editing tools (written, graphic, and video), and comfort using AI-enabled tools to support production.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
· Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across creative, content, and channel teams.
· Storytelling & Craft: Strong writer and content creator with a feel for voice and what resonates on each platform.
· Platform-Native Fluency: Current, practical understanding of social and digital channels and the formats, trends, and behaviors unique to each.
· Initiative & Ownership: Self-directed maker who takes content from idea to published, manages deadlines, and continually raises the quality bar.
· Collaboration: Works seamlessly with designers, video producers, and digital operations partners to bring content to life.
