We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our team.
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our products while working closely with experienced engineers and mentors. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build your technical expertise, gain exposure to modern software engineering practices, and develop a strong foundation in software design and development.
The ideal candidate is passionate about software engineering, eager to apply object-oriented principles and design patterns, and enthusiastic about learning functional programming and test-driven development (TDD). You will work within agile teams, delivering incremental improvements through continuous integration and continuous delivery practices. You take pride in writing clean, secure, maintainable, and reliable code and are motivated to understand how software performs in real-world production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software features under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify, analyze, and implement effective solutions.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable, and efficient Java code.
- Contribute to the development of high-performance, scalable, and reliable applications.
- Support the design and implementation of APIs using sound object-oriented principles and best practices.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum ceremonies and team planning activities.
- Learn and contribute to full-stack development using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or currently in the final year of study).
- Up to 6 months of software development experience, including internships, academic projects, or personal projects.
- Understanding of Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Familiarity with software testing, debugging, and code quality practices.
- Basic knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Exposure to version control systems such as Git and an understanding of CI/CD principles.
- Interest in or exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
- Understanding of web technologies and RESTful API development.
- Willingness to learn and work with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on software quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
