Associate Technical Solutions Analyst
- Multiple positions are open for recent Master’s degree graduates with relevant hands-on experience gained through co-ops, internships, graduate projects, or early-career professional work.
- Support the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex client technical issues, using critical thinking, sound judgment, and collaboration with more senior team members to drive issues toward resolution.
- Serve as a customer-facing technical resource during pre- and post-implementation activities, developing strong product and technology knowledge to provide effective ongoing support.
- Troubleshoot issues across data-driven applications, relational databases, XML sources, APIs, web services, and enterprise technology environments, with guidance and training provided as needed.
- Build working relationships with internal teams and external customers while continuing to strengthen technical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional support environment.
- Contribute to shared support systems, documentation, and knowledge base articles by capturing solutions, best practices, and lessons learned from technical investigations.
- Stay current on Vertex products, enterprise technologies, and support processes while applying academic training, internship experience, and hands-on learning to real client scenarios.
- Participate in team projects, training opportunities, and an on-call rotation as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Required Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant hands-on experience through co-ops, internships, graduate assistantships, capstone projects, research projects, or up to two years of early-career professional experience.
- Academic or practical exposure to one or more of the following: relational databases, SQL, Java, XML, APIs, web services, ERP platforms, cloud environments, or enterprise application support.
- Foundational understanding of Linux/Unix, scripting, HTTP/web services, networking concepts, debugging techniques, or application troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly, investigate technical issues, document findings, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, organizational, collaboration, and customer-service skills gained through academic work, internships, co-ops, project experience, or early professional roles.
- Curiosity, accountability, and a growth mindset, with interest in building a career in enterprise software support, technical consulting, application troubleshooting, or customer-facing technology roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SAP, Oracle, ERP platforms, enterprise applications, or tax technology through coursework, internships, co-ops, projects, or early professional experience.
- Familiarity with web services concepts such as SOAP, REST, WSDLs, APIs, or integration frameworks.
- Experience completing academic or practical projects involving data-driven applications, databases, analytics, cloud platforms, or high-volume transaction systems.
- Awareness of data governance, data security, privacy, operational support, or enterprise IT practices.
- Familiarity with virtual environments, cloud infrastructure, file transfer processes, networking, or related enterprise technology concepts.
- Interest in learning Vertex products or comparable enterprise software, tax technology, financial systems, or SaaS platforms.
- Prior experience working with customers, internal stakeholders, or project teams in a technical, analytical, consulting, or support capacity.
