Atomic Operations Designer

We are looking to hire an Atomic Operations Designer to design, model and characterise operations based on the interaction between ions and laser and microwave fields. What You’ll Accomplish Design methods for atom-light operations such as sub-Doppler cooling, state preparation and detection and quantum gates Contribute to the development of accurate physics models describing atom-light interactions Work with the hardware teams to implement methods on our devices Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions from models The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates Experience in designing atom-light interaction protocols for quantum technologies Strong background in atomic physics research A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry Must-have Skills (in addition to the above): Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python PhD in atomic physics Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research.
