About us

Aerospace New Zealand is the national voice of a small country doing big things in space and advanced aviation. We convene the companies, researchers, regulators, iwi and communities who are building a globally connected aerospace sector from the edge of the world, one that is open to collaboration, grounded in strong values, and focused on real impact for life on Earth.

Our Work Culture

Fly into our exhilarating aerospace industry! In this role, you’ll work in a dynamic, high-achieving organisation fueled by local and central government and key industry leaders across the entire aerospace sector. You’ll be part of a high-energy team that has already achieved tremendous results at the heart of New Zealand’s aerospace ambitions. This is your chance to make a real impact and to be part of building an aerospace nation. Get ready for a fast-paced, rewarding adventure.

About the role

The Auckland Relationships Coordinator exists to grow Aerospace New Zealand's presence, revenue, and influence in the Auckland aerospace community. This is a relationship-management and sales-focused role. The position is expected to have a strong revenue-generating focus, with sponsorship and associate membership income intended to help sustain the role over time, while operating as an integrated part of Aerospace New Zealand's national strategy rather than as a standalone Auckland function.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, build, and manage relationships with Auckland-based sponsors, partners, and associate members.
  • Actively sell sponsorship packages and associate memberships to generate revenue that supports both Auckland and national activity.
  • Represent Aerospace New Zealand at Auckland sector events, particularly through the summer events period, building the organisation's profile and network in the region.
  • Operate within, and report progress against, Aerospace New Zealand's national strategy and the Operations Lead's direction.
  • Ensure Auckland activity is additive to national programmes and does not duplicate the work of existing roles or partners.
  • Work towards revenue targets that allow the role to be self-sustaining over time.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Operations Lead on sponsorship and membership pipeline, relationships secured, activity undertaken, and revenue generated.
  • Work with the Operations Lead to ensure sponsorship discussions, pricing, partnership commitments and external-facing proposals are aligned with agreed Aerospace New Zealand processes and priorities.
  • Contribute to budget and planning discussions relevant to Auckland activity, including monitoring of the Auckland bank account in coordination with operational finance processes.
  • Support the Operations Lead in planning and delivering NZAS27, to be held in Auckland, taking on an increasing share of Auckland-based event coordination over time.

About you

  • Existing relationships and credibility within the Auckland aerospace, aviation, or technology sectors.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, sponsorship, or relationship management.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort representing an organisation externally.
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned to national direction and reporting lines.
  • Strong communication, follow-through and organisational skills.

If this sounds like you, or even if you are not sure you have enough experience, we encourage you to apply.

Hours of Work and Location

This is a part-time hybrid position, requiring 20 hours per week. This role is based at our Auckland co-working space, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. As Aerospace New Zealand is a national organisation, some travel throughout the country may be required periodically.
