We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (South Africa) (CA(SA)), who is either nearing qualification or recently qualified to join our team. Are you technically strong, eager to learn and ready to take the next step in your career?
This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with experienced Partners and Managers, gaining UK exposure to complex audit and accounts assignments while developing into a future leader within the firm.
The successful candidate will assist in delivering high-quality audit, accounting, and advisory services while building strong client relationships and contributing to the firm's commitment to excellence.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys audit and financial reporting and wants to broaden their experience within a UK practice environment.
You'll work with a varied portfolio of clients, taking ownership of assignments from planning through to completion, while receiving mentoring and support from experienced senior leaders. We're looking for someone who is curious, proactive and motivated to continuously develop both technically and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Audit
- Plan, coordinate and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Prepare and review audit files in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Identify key audit risks and perform appropriate audit testing.
- Draft audit reports, management letters and completion documentation.
- Liaise directly with UK clients to resolve audit queries and provide exceptional service.
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide coaching where required.
Client Service & Team Collaboration - Build strong working relationships with clients through regular communication.
- Manage your workload effectively while meeting agreed deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK and South Africa.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in audit methodology and internal processes.
- Share knowledge and support the development of junior team members.
About You
You must be someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, takes pride in producing high-quality work and is excited by the opportunity to grow within an international firm.
Essential
- Suits a soon-to-be-qualified / recently qualified with up to 2 years’ experience, CA(SA) with completed SAICA articles (Advantageous)
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards.
- Experience and involvement in audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and professional judgement.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Desirable
- Experience within a small or mid-tier accounting practice.
- Exposure to UK clients or UK GAAP (beneficial but not essential).
- Experience using CaseWare, CCH, Xero, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
