Selling (lead generation, valuation scoping, and closing) & Signing. A base salary plus an uncapped, formula-driven bonus.
InteleK is seeking an accredited valuer to join us as a Selling & Signing Valuer (“SSV”): an Australia-based, business-development-led role centred on generating new clients, building on our existing relationships and leads, and signing the opinions of value you win. Throughout this document, SSV means the Selling & Signing Valuer. This role demands a genuine valuation technical expert who can independently sign and execute complex engagements, with the judgement and credentials to stand behind every opinion delivered.
Remuneration is a base salary plus an uncapped, formula-driven bonus, so you have stability while you build and real upside as your book grows. The role suits a valuer who wants to own client relationships and business development rather than work inside valuation models and report templates (our analyst team handles that).
• Accreditation: the Certified Business Valuer (CBV) designation issued by the Australian Valuers Institute or the Business Valuation Specialist designation issued by CA ANZ are equally preferred, the former being the credential Andrew holds. Widely held qualifications such as CA, CPA or CFA are valued, but only alongside direct experience valuing privately held businesses. American designations such as the ABV or ASA are also valued, though they would need to be paired with Australian business valuation experience. If you hold no accreditation today that is also fine, provided your skill set means you could obtain one and you are open to doing so, which we will pay for.
• Genuine expertise in at least one of: independent expert’s reports under ASIC RG 111, employee share scheme (ESS) and safe harbour valuations, litigation and family law valuations, or purchase price allocations under AASB 3. We mean real years of doing the work, not passing exposure.
• Alongside that specialism, comfort with the conventional purposes we handle day to day: CGT and Division 7A, small business CGT concessions, financial reporting under AASB, family law property settlements, transactions, and succession and exit planning. You should also be very comfortable with complex cap tables of all types.
• You value working remotely (we are fully remote) while still enjoying in-person work to generate business.
• A preference for relationships, communication and business development over only executing and defending opinions of value.
• Either an existing book of business and relationships, or a clear, documented business plan and cash-flow forecasts on how you will achieve this with us. We are genuinely open to candidates with no book on day one.
• Digitally native at all levels, from Google Workspace to managing various IT, AI and LLM platforms. This matters to us more than ever: expect an in-depth discussion in the interview process about everything to do with AI and LLMs, and how you put them to work.
• Desire to generate business and dominate your local area as an accredited valuer, with a remuneration structure directly linked to that performance as a formula (i.e. not subjective).
• Be the client and engagement lead, meeting (primarily digitally) with prospects through to scoping, closing, and the client management that follows.
• Own the valuations you close. In this role the SSV will spend limited time building reports and templates; rather, as the senior signing valuer you will review and sign the work, leveraging our analyst staff and infrastructure to execute it, managing the client relationship from scoping through to final delivery at a very high standard.
• Be supported by the company’s infrastructure: Partner-level strategy, a team of analysts you oversee for execution, plus marketing, finance and operational assistance, so your focus stays on selling, reviewing/instructing analysts and signing.
• Collaborate with an entrepreneurial team of partners and staff; represent the brand to existing clients and develop new relationships to win new business.
• Work fully remotely. The only travel is when commercially logical (events or clients that grow revenue), typically pitched to the Partners for approval.
• Stay current on industry trends, and help build and improve our sales and valuation-execution tech stack.
Candidates must have full working rights in Australia without sponsorship.
• InteleK provides valuation services across compliance (taxation and financial reporting), transactions, strategic and exit planning, and litigation.
• We are specifically looking for a specialism that Andrew (our Australia-based Selling & Signing Valuer and Managing Partner) does not already cover, so that your arrival opens a new business line for the firm rather than duplicating what we do. Ryan Maguire, our US-based partner, covers our US work and is not involved in Australian valuations, though he does take part in our interview process. The common thread across the purposes listed above is work carrying high review risk, where fees follow the quality of the opinion.
• The partners bring relationship and sales experience, plus a modern view of how to use technology and offshoring to enhance valuation execution and performance.
RemunerationThis role pays a base salary plus an uncapped, formula-driven bonus on the net revenue you generate. The mechanics are straightforward:
• Base salary is guaranteed and gives you stability while you build momentum. It is set according to your experience and the value you bring.
• Bonus begins once your production has covered your fully-loaded base cost to the firm (base grossed up for superannuation, payroll tax and on-costs), and everything beyond that threshold earns at a defined rate. Rates step up as your book grows, and leads you source yourself earn at a higher rate than firm-provided leads.
• The formula is objective, not subjective, so you always know exactly where you stand and what the next dollar of revenue is worth to you.
Where we land on your base and bonus rates depends on the value you bring: whether you arrive with a material book or none at all, cultural fit, technological savviness, soft skills, ability to grow the book, risk of the book, and likely margins on that book. We will model the numbers with you during the process.
• 1. Three-month onboarding, learning and training. We expect roughly three months to integrate into our infrastructure and all things InteleK, and to build real momentum, whether bringing your book over or starting your business-development journey.
• 2. Execute your business plan over a 12-month period. Beyond onboarding, your goal is to execute the business plan you defined to us in the interview, delivered across any 12-month period. The first window runs from month 4 to month 15 (your first 12 months after onboarding).
• 3. We reassess together at the end of that period. Once we have assessed your performance across that 12-month window, we will sit down and reassess the remuneration structure and the future opportunities available to you at that point.
Send your CV along with a short video (between 60 and 180 seconds) on why you are a great fit for this role and excited to work with us. Send these to Oswaldo Ferrin, our Operations Associate, at oswaldo.ferrin@intelekbva.com.
Thank you, and we look forward to speaking.
