We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join our team and contribute to the quality and reliability of our software products.
As an Automation Test Engineer at Lufthansa Systems Hungária, you will play an important role in ensuring that our applications meet high-quality standards. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated tests for both in-house applications and third-party software, while continuously improving our testing processes and automation coverage.
You will work closely with developers, Product Owners, Project Managers and other testing specialists. Your role will combine hands-on test automation with test coordination, process improvement and knowledge sharing. You will have the opportunity to shape our testing strategy and contribute to building a strong quality culture across our products.
Your responsibilities will be
- Analyze and understand business, functional and technical requirements and work with stakeholders to clarify acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate testing activities within a Scrum Software Development Team and contribute to the further development of our overall test strategy.
- Define, maintain and continuously improve the technical and conceptual testing framework used across our products.
- Plan testing activities based on project requirements and identify the appropriate testing effort and approach.
- Create, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases.
- Develop, enhance and maintain automated tests for functional, regression and integration testing.
- Continuously increase test automation and improve automated regression test coverage.
- Identify, document and track defects and ensure effective follow-up with development teams.
- Ensure appropriate test data is created and maintained.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases and defects.
- Review and improve our holistic test concept beyond the individual Scrum Team.
- Evaluate and introduce new testing and automation tools and technologies where appropriate.
- Establish and support performance and security testing practices when required.
- Ensure testing documentation and artifacts are properly structured, documented and maintained.
- Implement, monitor and continuously improve testing processes and standards.
- Act as a go-to person for Product Owners, Project Managers and testers regarding testing-related topics.
- Provide risk-based testing recommendations and communicate testing status, risks and results to stakeholders.
- Organize testing-related status meetings and prepare status reports.
- Support and mentor junior testers and act as a coach and sparring partner for complex testing topics.
- Promote software quality, knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
You are looking for us, if you have
- 5+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Coordination or Test Management.
- Practical experience with test management and defect tracking tools, such as Xray and Jira.
- Strong programming skills in Java – this is a mandatory requirement.
- Solid experience in API testing and hands-on knowledge of tools such as Postman, Bruno or Insomnia.
- Good knowledge of SQL and experience writing and executing SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, Apache HttpClient, JUnit 5 or TestNG.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
- A structured and analytical way of thinking and the ability to identify risks and prioritize testing activities accordingly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and the confidence to work with different stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to continuously improve testing processes and practices.
- Very good written and spoken English skills.
- Experience in the financial sector, such as banking, payments or related areas, is considered an advantage.
- Interest in mentoring colleagues and sharing your testing knowledge and experience.
