We're hiring an AutoCAD Drafter to join a growing architectural documentation team, working 100% remote aligned to New York business hours.
**What you'll do:**
You'll produce complete filing and construction sets—plot plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed wall schedules—by interpreting zoning rules and building code requirements. You'll work directly from written specifications and standards, translating technical requirements into accurate, production-ready drawings. No design phase, no sketches or markups: you'll own the full execution from requirement to deliverable.
**What we need:**
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency (we'll assess this in a live test)
- Ability to work fast and precisely—every drawing counts and deadlines are real
- Complete autonomy: you read the rules, identify conflicts, and solve them independently
- Experience interpreting and applying building codes, zoning requirements, or construction standards to drawing sets
- Strong attention to detail in technical documentation and compliance schedules
- Immediate availability during New York hours for urgent revisions
- Professional English (C1 level) to read code documents and communicate clearly
**Nice-to-have:**
Experience with any jurisdiction's building codes, DOB objection management, or optimizing layouts within regulatory minimums.
**The process:**
We'll start with a live AutoCAD test during the initial conversation. If it's a fit, we'll have a 1–2 week trial project with real work before a final decision. We're looking for someone who is ready to execute immediately—this is not a learning opportunity, but we will teach you our local code details and standards.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 2 years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience
- Portfolio with examples of construction/filing sets (floor plans, sections, schedules)
- Fluent English (C1 minimum)
- Full-time availability, fully remote
If you thrive under pace and precision, work independently, and want to own technical delivery, apply now.
