Automation Systems Specialist | Airtable + Make.com
$99 SocialAbout the role
This is a fully remote role open to candidates throughout Latin America.
$99 Social is looking for an experienced Automation Systems Specialist to join our team on a long-term basis.
A significant part of our internal operations runs through Airtable and Make.com. We already have established systems and production automations, so this role is not simply about building new workflows from scratch.
You’ll initially learn our existing infrastructure, work alongside our current automation specialist, help maintain and improve our systems, troubleshoot issues, document workflows and dependencies, and gradually take ownership of important automations.
A major goal for us is continuity and redundancy. Critical systems should not depend on the knowledge of only one person, so reliability, documentation, communication, and maintainable system design are just as important as technical ability.
What you’ll work on
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing Airtable + Make.com automations
• Build and improve complex multi-step Make scenarios
• Work with Airtable relational databases, linked records, formulas, automations, interfaces, and scripting
• Integrate APIs, webhooks, HTTP requests, authentication, and JSON
• Diagnose failed, duplicated, or inconsistent automation executions
• Implement safe retry, duplicate-prevention, logging, monitoring, and error-handling practices
• Test changes before they affect production systems
• Document workflows, dependencies, recovery procedures, and technical decisions
• Explain technical problems clearly to nontechnical team members
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual work
What we’re looking for
• Strong hands-on production experience with both Airtable and Make.com
• Experience maintaining existing production automations, not only building new ones
• Strong Make.com experience with routers, filters, iterators, aggregators, webhooks, error handling, retries, and debugging
• Strong Airtable experience with relational database design and operational systems
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and webhooks
• Understanding of duplicate prevention, idempotency, data integrity, and safe recovery from failures
• Strong documentation and communication habits
• Ability to investigate and solve problems independently
JavaScript, Python, Airtable scripting, n8n, Zapier, or similar experience is a plus.
Schedule & compensation
• Approximately 15–20 hours per week initially
• Long-term opportunity with room for increased responsibility
• Reasonable overlap with the U.S. Eastern working day required
• Preferred compensation: $18–$22 USD/hour, with flexibility up to $25/hour for exceptional experience
• Candidates throughout Latin America are welcome to apply
Hiring process
We care more about demonstrated ability than polished applications. Shortlisted candidates will go through a structured screening process followed by a paid practical evaluation based on a realistic automation scenario.
- If applying, please make sure your profile or application clearly shows real Airtable + Make.com production experience.
