What you will do In this role, you will appraise material damage to primarily motor vehicles via photograph, review of shop appraisals, or physical inspection. You will also assist the claims department and serve as an appraisal subject matter expert for the front line claim adjusters. Further, you will evaluate and negotiate total loss settlements, including disposal of salvage, and supervise Direct Repair Program shops, as needed. Key responsibilities Appraise material damage to primarily motor vehicles via photograph, review of shop appraisals, or physical inspection. Obtain meaningful agreed prices with repair facilities, as needed. Assist the claims department and serve as an appraisal subject matter expert for the front line claim adjusters. Evaluate and negotiate total loss settlements, including disposal of salvage. Supervise Direct Repair Program shops, as necessary. Handle other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. Appropriately respond to customer complaints or issues resulting from appraisal related matters. Able to travel, when necessary, to respond to catastrophe events. Response to catastrophe events may necessitate physical inspection of vehicles rather than desk reviews/appraisals. What you need 4-year degree and/or equivalent business experience preferred. A.S.E. and/or I-Car certifications preferred. Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter and CCC estimating platform preferred. Insurance coursework recommended. 3-5 years of previous appraisal experience preferred. Licensing Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster/appraiser in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims. Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment. Salary range: $71,000-$97,000 The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
