In this role, you’ll act as a key technical link between Product Engineering, Manufacturing and OEM customer aftersales teams, translating engineering design data into serviceable parts, repair kits and aftermarket catalogue structures. Main Responsibilities Analyse Engineering BOMs (EBOMs) and Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs) to create and maintain customer-facing and aftermarket Service BOMs (SBOMs) within enterprise PLM systems. Work directly with OEM customer Serviceability and Aftersales teams to agree appropriate service levels, from component-level replacement through to complete assembly replacement. Define replacement sub-assemblies, service kits, wear-and-tear parts and hardware packages, including seals, gaskets and fasteners required for field repairs. Assess engineering changes to understand their impact on service parts, including supersession rules, interchangeability and effective dates. Work with manufacturing plants and supply chain partners to ensure service parts can be sourced, packaged and supplied throughout required warranty and spare-parts lifecycles. Provide technical information, exploded views and torque and assembly data to Technical Publications teams for service manuals and spare parts catalogues. What We’re Looking For 3+ years’ experience in aftersales engineering, spare parts BOM management or technical service engineering within an automotive Tier-1 supplier or OEM environment. Strong experience using enterprise PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill or SAP PLM to manage complex EBOM, MBOM and SBOM relationships. Experience reading and interpreting 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA V5/V6 or Creo. Strong understanding of engineering change-management processes, including ECR, ECO and ECN, and part supersession. A solid understanding of automotive systems such as mechatronics, powertrain, chassis or electronics, together with standard automotive service operations. Experience managing Independent Aftermarket (IAM) catalogue structures alongside OEM Original Equipment Service (OES) requirements would be advantageous. Knowledge of VDA, ISO or OEM-specific standards relating to spare parts documentation and serviceability would be beneficial. Experience supporting long-term service agreements and end-of-life component lifecycle planning would be advantageous.
