Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from January to June (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Learn:
- Support interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements used in mechanical hardware design.
- How manufacturing nonconformances are analyzed, documented and resolved, including exposure to root cause investigation and engineering dispositions.
- Experience with supplier requests for information (SRIs) and how they are reviewed and processed.
- Supporting engineering change initiation and execution, providing insight into configuration control, documentation updates, and the engineering change workflow.
What You Will Do:
- Assist in updating drawings through the PW engineering change process.
- Support engineering evaluations related to quality notifications and supplier inquiries on production hardware.
- Participate in mechanical design tasks that consider manufacturability, material selection, structural performance, thermal behavior, system constraints, and cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across APU and TJ programs.
- English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
- Coursework or project experience involving mechanical design, manufacturing processes, or engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), or configuration-controlled technical data.
