The Role The Associate Vice President, Commercial Brand Strategy Classics Portfolio leads the commercial strategy and performance agenda for Hyatt’s Full-Service Classics Brands. The role integrates revenue, sales, marketing, digital, and distribution to improve brand-level performance, competitive position, profitability, and owner value. Working across Hyatt’s commercial engine and in close partnership with brand, regional, property, owners, the AVP translates data and market intelligence into clear priorities, practical action plans, and repeatable capabilities that strengthen execution across the brand portfolio. This position reports into the VP of Commercial Services with a dotted line into the Classics Brand Leader. Role Purpose The AVP evaluates portfolio and brand performance against financial objectives, market opportunity, customer demand, competitive position, and strategic priorities. The role establishes differentiated commercial priorities for the Classics portfolio, balancing the consistency needed to scale with the flexibility required by individual brands and markets. Key Outputs and Deliverables: Classics commercial strategy. An integrated strategy aligned with brand intent, portfolio priorities, owner needs, and financial objectives that translate into clear actions, practical tools, and consistent follow-through for managed, franchise, new, converted, and stabilizing hotels. Portfolio and brand performance assessments. Regular assessments that identify root causes, risks, competitive gaps, and the highest-impact opportunities. Prioritized commercial roadmaps. Initiatives with clear actions, accountabilities, milestones, required support, and performance measures. Property-facing playbooks and tools. Practical guidance that helps hotels move from insight to action across priority demand segments, channels, and commercial disciplines. Performance governance. A disciplined cadence for tracking results, escalating barriers, sharing learning, and refining strategy based on evidence. Capability and talent agenda. Shared learning, standards, and development that strengthen commercial leadership and execution across the portfolio. Qualifications Experience Required: Relevant experience. Seven to ten years of progressive experience with a major hotel brand, management company, or franchise operator, including experience in Full-Service Classics branded hotels. Commercial expertise - Functional experience in a combination of sales, marketing, revenue management, digital, distribution, or brand strategy. Education - Bachelor’s degree Matrix leadership - Proven ability to drive results through influence, collaboration, and disciplined follow-through across a complex organization. Team leadership - Experience leading, developing, and inspiring a team of commercial professionals. P erformance transformation - Track record of improving commercial performance through diagnosis, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and property adoption. Change leadership - Experience launching new tools, programs, or ways of working and sustaining adoption over time. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan, LTIP and DCP. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
