AWS Solutions Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to lead application modernisation, cloud migration, microservices, integration, and serverless architecture initiatives on AWS. The role will involve defining target-state architectures, modernising legacy integration platforms, establishing cloud and infrastructure standards, and guiding engineering teams through specification-driven delivery.

Requirements

Key Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, or solution architecture, including at least 5 years of AWS experience.
  

• Proven experience leading legacy-to-cloud modernisation or migration programmes, ideally including migration from platforms such as MuleSoft to AWS-native services.
  

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
  

• Hands-on knowledge of AWS Lambda, ECS, Fargate, VPC Lattice, and related AWS services.
  

• Experience designing event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS, SQS, Kafka, or equivalent technologies.
  

• Practical understanding of distributed system patterns including Saga, CQRS, and eventual consistency.
  

• Strong capability in REST API, integration contract, and data contract design.
  

• Experience defining Terraform standards, reusable modules, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  

• Ability to establish and drive specification-driven development across engineering teams.
  

• Familiarity with GenAI-assisted development tools and their use within software delivery processes.
  

• Ability to adopt and enforce organisational architecture methodologies, DevOps practices, cloud standards, and infrastructure-as-code guidelines.
  

Remote Engagement Requirements

• This is a fully remote, 6-month contract engagement.
  

• Resources may be located in any region, provided they can support South East Asia and provide partial overlap with LATAM and Middle East time zones where required.
  

• Flexible working hours are expected to accommodate stakeholders in the Philippines, LATAM, El Salvador, and Middle East.
  

• Remote cloud PC access may be provided through Amazon WorkSpaces where appropriate.
  

• Some architecture, development, or testing activities may require a suitable local working environment.
