Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for an Azure Infrastructure & Database Administrator, based in Lagos with flexibility for partial work from home. The administrator will manage and maintain Azure-based infrastructure services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for production and staging environments. Daily responsibilities include configuring and monitoring virtual machines, storage, networking, and backups, as well as installing, tuning, and securing databases used by Fuelmetrics platforms. The role involves designing and implementing database schemas, managing replication and disaster recovery strategies, and handling routine maintenance such as updates, patching, and performance optimization. The administrator will also troubleshoot infrastructure and database issues, collaborate with developers and product teams on deployment and scalability needs, and document configurations, standards, and procedures to support ongoing operations.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, with experience managing production workloads.
• Proficiency in Database Design and schema optimization for performance and scalability.
• Hands-on experience with Troubleshooting database and infrastructure issues in Azure environments.
• Knowledge of Replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical systems.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure VMs, storage, networking, monitoring tools).
• Understanding of security best practices, including access control, encryption, and compliance for cloud-based systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting technical solutions clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Database Administrator) are an advantage.
