About the Project

We are looking for a Frontend Angular Developer to join a large-scale IT modernization project within the public sector in Belgium.

You will be part of a frontend team working on the major overhaul of a Design System, supporting the modernization of a broad application landscape and contributing to a more accessible, performant and future-proof frontend ecosystem.

The project focuses on two major areas:

• Moving away from PrimeNG by replacing execution components with proprietary semantic HTML5 and native components, combined with Angular CDK.
• Upgrading the Design System to Angular 22, adopting the latest Angular capabilities, including zoneless applications, advanced reactive Signals and compiler optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical design, analysis and documentation of the Design System.
• Participate in the migration and upgrade to Angular 22.
• Refactor existing components by replacing PrimeNG with semantic HTML5, native components and Angular CDK.
• Work on presentation components, overlays/navigation, reactive form controls and data tables.
• Apply frontend performance optimization techniques, including OnPush change detection.
• Develop and maintain unit tests using Vitest, JSDOM and zoneless testing.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.
• Follow SonarQube quality rules, Clean Code and SOLID principles.
• Contribute to task qualification, estimation and backlog breakdown together with the Team Leader.
• Collaborate effectively within an Agile Scrum team.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience with Angular.
• Strong experience with Angular CDK.
• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of Semantic HTML5 and modern Web APIs.
• Experience building or contributing to Component Libraries / Design Systems.
• Solid knowledge of Web Accessibility and WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Experience with unit testing, ideally using Vitest, JSDOM and zoneless testing.
• Good understanding of Clean Code and SOLID principles.
• Professional experience in Agile Scrum environments.
• Fluent French – mandatory.
• Availability to work 50% onsite in Brussels.
• Comfortable working on a B2B / independent contractor basis.
