We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a Delivery Manager to join the End to End Delivery Team within Social Security Scotland. The End to End Delivery Team plays a key role in coordinating the delivery of complex digital products and services across Social Security Scotland. Working closely with colleagues across Change and Digital Delivery, and other delivery partners. The team helps ensure services are delivered effectively, efficiently and in line with organisational priorities. As a Delivery Manager, you will support the prioritisation, coordination and delivery of work across multiple products, services and teams. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to manage dependencies, remove blockers, drive continuous improvement and support the successful delivery of outcomes for clients and the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for colleagues across the Scottish Government to broaden their delivery management experience while contributing to the delivery of high-profile digital services that support citizens across Scotland. Responsibilities Demonstrate and compare effective delivery methods, adapting approaches to context and evaluating outcomes. Foster a culture of experimentation, resilience and continuous improvement. Support teams to define, manage and visualise outcomes effectively using data to inform planning. Act as a liaison between contracted suppliers, internal teams and senior stakeholders, interpreting both technical and business needs. Manage stakeholder relationships, expectations and communications, facilitating discussions across diverse and senior audiences. Understand government processes, delivery environments and third-party involvement, applying this knowledge to prioritisation and decision-making. Recognise and manage transitions across the product lifecycle, ensuring adherence to service standards throughout delivery phases. Facilitate smooth delivery flow, managing pace and momentum while addressing risks, issues and dependencies proactively. Challenge complex or inefficient organisational processes, coaching teams and the wider organisation in inspection, adaptation and implementation of improved practices. Provide delivery assurance by removing blockers, managing dependencies and maintaining confidence in outcomes. Build, structure and motivate high-performing teams, creating inclusive and effective working environments. Identify, address and resolve team challenges, supporting optimal team composition based on context and need. Success Profiles We use an assessment framework called ‘Success Profiles’ which lists the elements we test and provides detailed descriptions of each. Find out more about the framework here. For this opportunity, the following Success Profile elements will be assessed: Experience: Demonstrates practitioner-level expertise in Agile and Lean practices, including selecting and comparing delivery approaches, fostering experimentation and resilience, and adapting methods to suit context. Applies a blended approach where appropriate, measuring and evaluating outcomes, and supporting teams to manage and visualise progress effectively. Demonstrates practitioner-level expertise in communicating across technical and non-technical stakeholders, interpreting diverse needs, managing expectations, and handling both proactive and reactive communication. Facilitates challenging discussions within teams and with senior stakeholders. Demonstrates practitioner-level expertise in planning, including understanding the delivery environment, prioritising effectively, using data to inform decisions, managing dependencies, removing blockers, and ensuring confidence in delivery outcomes. Demonstrates practitioner-level expertise in ensuring delivery momentum, helping the team’s delivery flow by actively addressing internal and external risks, issues and dependencies, even when the ownership exists outside the team. This is a Government Digital and Data (GDD) role within the Product and Delivery job family. Hybrid Working Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location.
