As a Backend Engineer, you'll design, build, and evolve the cloud-native services that power our platform. You'll work on complex engineering challenges, collaborate closely with Product and fellow engineers, and have the autonomy to shape scalable solutions from design through deployment. 🎯 Your impact You'll play a key role in building the foundation of our platform. From designing secure APIs and scalable backend services to improving performance and code quality, you'll help create software that thousands of professionals rely on every day. You'll also contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and AI-powered development workflows. 🚀 What you'll do Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java Develop secure REST APIs and cloud-native features Translate product requirements into clean, maintainable software Design and optimise database models and SQL queries Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to deliver high-quality features Leverage AI tools to improve development speed, quality, and efficiency Continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our platform 🧩 You'll thrive in this role if you... Are fluent in English Have 3+ years of experience building enterprise applications in Java Have strong experience with relational databases and SQL Know how to design and build secure REST APIs Enjoy real ownership and autonomy from day one Enjoy solving complex technical challenges and thinking about scalability Are a collaborative engineer who enjoys sharing knowledge through code reviews Communicate clearly and enjoy working closely with teammates 🌟 Nice to have Fluency in Dutch is a plus Experience with Quarkus or similar modern Java frameworks Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular Experience working with cloud-native architectures or distributed systems Experience using AI tools to improve software development workflows 💎 Why Harmoney?
