Backend Engineer (LatAm) - Python/Django

Full-Time | Remote | 8am – 5pm EST We're hiring a Backend Engineer to build mission-critical software for a highly regulated financial services market. This person will own the backend systems and integrations that power the platform — the APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure that financial advisors and wealth management firms depend on. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with deep ownership. You'll be the engineer who owns critical integrations, designs the APIs, monitors what you ship, and debugs problems before they reach customers. What you'll own The backend, end to end: Integrations with custodial platforms, CRM systems, and financial data providers — with reliable data synchronization and processing RESTful API design and implementation, built for performance, security, and scale Monitoring infrastructure — dashboards and proactive detection, plus debugging when issues surface Database management — query optimization, data integrity, and application performance across relational and non-relational stores Code review for all backend pull requests Quality assurance — making sure what ships to production meets acceptance criteria without rework You'll partner with frontend, platform, and AI teams to integrate backend solutions into the overall product architecture. You're a fit if you: Have 5+ years building web applications and APIs with Django. Have 2+ years designing and building RESTful APIs. Have 2+ years with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and 1+ years with Docker. Are comfortable with PostgreSQL plus non-relational stores like Redis or Elasticsearch. Have 5+ years with Git/GitHub workflows and 3+ years building software in teams. Have production experience with a product used by 1,000+ users or companies. Troubleshoot complex issues methodically and communicate clearly, in writing and in person. Strong plus: experience with monitoring and dashboard tools (Kibana, Grafana, PowerBI) and working from requirements in Confluence or Notion.
