Backend QA Engineer

Backend QA Engineer Own quality end to end on a high-traffic Go platform - from manual API validation to automated suites - making sure nothing slips through to production. Apply We usually respond within a week Location: Remote from Europe Reporting to: Head of Back-end Development Your Mission Analyse business requirements, functional specs, and user stories to design comprehensive test cases and scenarios. Perform end-to-end testing of transaction lifecycles, covering initiation, authorisation, settlement, and reconciliation. Explore the platform proactively for edge cases, risks, and behaviour the specs did not anticipate. Validate data accuracy and consistency across services using SQL queries against PostgreSQL or MySQL. Test REST and gRPC endpoints with Postman, grpcurl, or similar, to verify request and response behaviour. Verify event-driven flows across message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS, including retries and duplicate handling. Write and extend automated tests in Go for regression-critical paths, working with the engineering team where needed. Log, track, and manage defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, payloads, and service logs. Run regression testing after every deployment. What You Bring 4+ years of manual testing experience with a focus on backend services and APIs. Domain experience in iGaming, Fintech, payment gateways, or banking platforms. Proficiency in writing intermediate SQL queries to validate data in relational databases. Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, and test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr. Able to read Go and write or extend tests in it. Prior automation experience in any language is fine if you are willing to work in Go. Working knowledge of Docker and the ability to spin up services locally for testing. Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Nice to Have Existing Go experience. Experience supporting UAT with business stakeholders. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Kubernetes or observability tooling.
