Get ready to Define and drive the overall technical strategy and architecture across multiple products and brands; Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3-4 backend engineers; Own system architecture decisions — design for scalability, maintainability, and reliability; Review technical designs and code to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to best practices; Hands-on development using PHP, Laravel, and Laravel Nova; Identify technical debt, propose improvements, and drive their implementation proactively; Ensure system reliability — monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, and put safeguards in place to prevent recurrence; Build and improve engineering processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure consistency across teams; Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve delivery speed; Track and report technical health metrics (uptime, performance, incident counts) to senior management; Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, and product teams; Stay up-to-date with new tools, architectural patterns, and AI-assisted development practices; Proactively identify technical risks and gaps and take initiative to address them without waiting to be directed. We expect you to have 5+ years of proven backend development experience; Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel; experience with Laravel Nova is a plus; Strong understanding of system architecture, database design, and API design; Experience owning production reliability — monitoring, incident response, performance tuning; Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes; Ability to manage and grow a backend engineering team; Ability to leverage AI tools in coding and development workflows; Strong sense of ownership — able to independently identify scope, prioritize, and execute without constant direction. Nice to Have Experience with Laravel Nova specifically; Experience with queueing/event-driven systems (e.g. SQS, Redis); Experience working in e-commerce or high-traffic web products; Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines. Salary Gross salary range is 5500-6500 EUR/month. Location We have several great workspaces to choose from, including our headquarters in Vilnius and our hubs in Klaipėda and Riga. For our Vilnius office, we follow a 4 days onsite, 1 day remote hybrid model. For roles based outside Vilnius, the work arrangement - onsite, hybrid, or remote-depends on the specific position.
