Join Our Team as a BCaR Coordinator

Job Title:BCaR Coordinator

Location:Dublin (primarily)

Terms: Full time permanent contract, following 6-month probationary period

Salary: €45,000 - €55,000

Benefits:Comprehensive package including healthcare, pension, and an employee stock ownership plan

About Structure Tone:

We are one of Ireland’s leading fit-out contractors, working across the commercial, healthcare, retail, and data centre industries. Our projects are primarily in the Dublin area, though we work all over Ireland. We are looking for a BCaR Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

The Role:

As a BCaR Coordinator, you will be a part of a wider team of Coordinators and will report directly to the BCaR & Sustainability Supervisor. You will independently manage the projects assigned to you, providing regular updates on progress, status, and risks to both your manager and the project teams.

This is a hybrid position in that there is a requirement for time to be spent on site and in our head office, but there is flexibility to work remotely when appropriate.

Your Impact:

Your core responsibilities lie with ensuring that building regulations and general QA are correctly implemented and maintained over all projects to which you are assigned. You will be instrumental in setting up subcontractor-specific templates and trackers for each project, holding workshops with subcontractors, reviewing material submittals for BCaR compliance, and attending meetings with key stakeholders.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Implement established procedures to ensure the BCaR process is followed. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up subcontractor-specific templates and trackers for each project as needed and attend subcontractor pre-award meetings to ensure their contracts reflect these BCaR requirements
  • Holding workshops with subcontractors as they are appointed to a project, where you will review requirements and expectations of them from a BCaR perspective
  • Review material submittals to ensure they include all relevant data sheets (Declarations of Performance, CE certificates, test reports, etc), which will need to be vetted for BCaR compliance
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders (Assigned Certifier, design team consultants, etc) as needed, as well as all internal STL meetings (open items, BCaR reviews, etc)
    • Arrange & hold meetings with these stakeholders on an as needed basis.
  • Tracking benchmark inspections, recording consultant feedback, and distributing to all relevant parties. These benchmarks will need to be fully approved prior to project completion – a process you will manage & oversee
  • Request and chase subcontractor inspections, which are to be sent to Structure Tone on a regular basis. Any nonengagement needs to be escalated to the BCaR Supervisor and the project team and highlighted as a risk
  • Undertake your own site inspections regularly to document general progress and to serve as a due diligence requirement
  • Request and collate BCaR/Handover checklists from each consultant, then request and track receipt of documents against these checklists
  • Provide regular updates to the BCaR Supervisor, the Project Manager, and Project Director throughout the project. Any risks or lack of compliance are to be escalated immediately.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree / Degree-level education preferable
  • Experience in, or exposure to, working on a BCaR project
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team/collaborative group environment, but also self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Professionalism, as this is a client-facing role
