About the Role Great Bay Mental Health, a proud member of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and the Mass General Brigham system, is seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time, 36-hr Behavioral Health Counselor to join our growing outpatient behavioral health practice. This position provides individual and family therapy services to a primarily pediatric population, working with children approximately 4–12 years of age. As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, primary care pediatricians, and other behavioral health professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about supporting children and families while practicing in a team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities · Provide outpatient individual and family psychotherapy to a pediatric patient population. · Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. · Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including play therapy, family systems therapy, and other age-appropriate treatment modalities. · Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, primary care providers, and community partners to coordinate patient care. · Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and regulatory standards. · Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate. · Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and clinical collaboration. · Provide education, guidance, and support to patients, families, and caregivers to promote positive behavioral health outcomes. · Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards of practice. The ideal candidate is a licensed behavioral health clinician with 3–5 years of experience providing outpatient therapy, including experience working with pediatric patients. They are passionate about supporting children and families through evidence-based, developmentally appropriate care and bring experience with therapeutic approaches such as play therapy and family systems therapy. This individual thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and enjoys partnering with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, pediatric primary care providers, and other members of the care team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered behavioral health services. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and assessment skills, along with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care, will contribute to success in this role.
