At BWB Consulting, we’re more than engineers—we’re trusted partners, innovators and problem-solvers. Named ACE Best Large Consultancy of the Year 2022 and accredited by Investors in People and Investors in Wellbeing, we combine technical excellence with collaboration, sustainability and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.
What you’ll be doing
You will work with the National Bid and Frameworks Manager to deliver national and regional business growth plans through strategic bids and pursuits. These opportunities will be identified in collaboration with regional management teams and the Executive Board. You will manage tenders from pre-bid engagement through to submission, ensuring BWB’s bid responses are consistent, persuasive and commercially focused. Internally, you will work with colleagues at all levels to identify, shape and produce high-quality bid content that supports BWB’s commercial objectives. Externally, you will liaise with suppliers and partners, including architects, master planners and other design organisations, to develop material that strengthens BWB’s submissions.
In this role, you will:
· Research, identify, record and monitor tender opportunities through relevant tender enquiry systems, from initial enquiry through to submission and interview stages.
· Coordinate the development of high-quality bid submissions, including answer planning, storyboarding and pink/red review drafts, working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
· Support the alignment of technical and commercial elements of bids to ensure clear, consistent and compelling submissions.
· Coordinate regularly with SMEs and other key stakeholders to gather technical input, evidence and supporting information for bids.
· Review successful and unsuccessful bids, capturing feedback and lessons learned and ensuring these are shared and applied to future submissions.
· Maintain the company-wide enquiry tracker, supporting visibility of opportunities and identifying potential cross-selling opportunities across the business.
· Maintain the Framework Register and proactively research and monitor opportunities arising through secured frameworks.
· Prepare and coordinate reports, presentations, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), tender submissions and supporting bid documentation.
· Support the development of pre-bid engagement plans for key opportunities.
· Ensure all bid and business growth materials comply with Company branding and quality standards.
· Provide coordination and administrative support to the National Bid & Frameworks Manager across bid, framework and business growth activities.
· Attend relevant industry events and conferences to develop market knowledge and gather intelligence on emerging and future opportunities.
· Prepare information for meetings, attend as required and capture key actions and decisions.
· Maintain and develop business growth content and resources on the internal SharePoint site, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
Contribute to and maintain the Business Growth Implementation Plan, providing clear visibility of progress against agreed initiatives and actions.
What you’ll bring
· Demonstrable experience of supporting and delivering bids and pursuits across a range of sectors, clients and opportunity types.
· Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple bids of varying size and complexity, including submissions involving third-party organisations and delivery partners.
· Strong bid writing and content development skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and persuasive responses that effectively communicate BWB’s capabilities and value proposition.
· Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to develop, maintain and apply a consistent BWB tone of voice across content produced by multiple contributors.
· Ability to identify relevant evidence and content and tailor responses effectively to the client, opportunity and target audience.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality submissions to challenging deadlines.
· Ability to engage, coordinate and influence internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to secure timely, high-quality contributions to bid submissions.
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams, disciplines and levels of seniority.
· Confident verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to contribute effectively to bid workshops and review meetings.
· High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality, accuracy and compliance.
· Proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider bid and business growth team.
