Department and Project

This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners, we develop and operate intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers, covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations, country booking, providing On-Board Units, position data transmission, charge calculation, and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology, our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International, you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions.

Main tasks

As a Bid / Project Manager, you will play a key role within our agile organization in the New Business Tribe. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex tenders and proposals (bid management) and will support awarded projects through their initial delivery phase. Combining strategic thinking, structured execution, and excellent sales and stakeholder management skills, you will actively contribute to business success in the field of road user services and tolling systems.

As a Bid/Project Manager:

  • Lead and manage tender processes (RFPs) from initial analysis through final proposal submission, including coordination of all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and consolidate commercial and technical proposals, including business plans, cost calculations, effort estimates, and pricing models.
  • Ensure the quality, completeness, and timely delivery of all bid documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Delivery teams.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the bid process.
  • Transition awarded projects to Delivery and provide initial project management support during the implementation phase.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the bid process and early project lifecycle.
  • Identify market opportunities and growth potential while actively supporting new business acquisition initiatives.
  • Proactively engage prospective customers, build sustainable customer relationships, and develop new business opportunities across the entire solution sales funnel.

Qualifications

Background and required skills:

  • University degree (minimum Bachelor's level), preferably in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • More than five years of experience in bid management and project management, ideally within IT and infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience managing complex tenders, preferably in the public sector.
  • Strong sales and customer orientation, combined with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of sales and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new customers, expanding market opportunities, and converting business opportunities into signed contracts.
  • Excellent ability to structure complex topics, manage stakeholders, and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with complex technical solutions is advantageous, although expert-level technical knowledge is not required.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English; French language skills are considered a plus.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 25% to 50%).
