Bilingual Bankruptcy Case Manager / Document Collector

About the Role
A U.S.-based law firm is seeking a Bilingual Case Manager / Document Collector with Bankruptcy experience to join its team remotely.
This role is ideal for someone highly organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating directly with clients while managing the documentation required throughout the bankruptcy process. The right candidate will have prior experience supporting a U.S. bankruptcy law firm and understand the importance of accuracy, follow-up, and deadlines when preparing bankruptcy cases.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned bankruptcy cases and maintain consistent follow-up with clients.
- Collect financial and supporting documentation required for bankruptcy filings.
- Request and organize documents such as bank statements, pay stubs, tax returns, identification documents, creditor information, and other financial records.
- Review documentation for completeness and follow up with clients regarding missing or incomplete information.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
- Update client and case information within the firm's case management system.
- Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish regarding documentation, deadlines, and case requirements.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with preparing and filing cases.
- Track deadlines, outstanding documentation, and pending client requirements.
- Follow up consistently with clients to keep cases moving forward.
- Assist with general administrative and case management responsibilities related to bankruptcy matters.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with a U.S. bankruptcy law firm is required.
- Experience as a Bankruptcy Case Manager, Legal Assistant, Document Collector, or similar role.
- Familiarity with Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases is highly preferred.
- Understanding of common bankruptcy documentation and client financial information.
- Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Strong English communication skills and confidence speaking directly with U.S.-based attorneys, team members, and clients.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with U.S. legal case management software is a plus.
