Job Summary
The Bilingual Collections Specialist is responsible for managing collection activities across assigned accounts. This role involves working closely with Sales Representatives, Branch Personnel, and General/Facility Managers to provide ongoing account updates while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Account Management & Reconciliation: Analyze and reconcile assigned accounts monthly; identify, research, and resolve outstanding balance issues.
- Collections Execution: Manage and execute collection processes in accordance with company policies, including direct phone outreach and written correspondence.
- Reporting & Escalation: Provide monthly reporting on delinquent accounts to the Collections Manager; escalate unresolved or complex issues to the Team Lead or Manager in a timely manner.
- Cash Application Oversight: Monitor, analyze, and maintain unapplied cash and credit balances in coordination with the cash applications team.
- Account Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records of collection efforts, account notes, and updated contact information for delinquent accounts.
- Goal Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed monthly individual and team collection objectives.
- Compliance & Adherence: Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, industry regulations, and internal company policies.
- General Duties: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Education: Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in collections, accounts receivable (A/R), or customer service.
- Language: Fluency in both written and spoken French and English (bilingual).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong telephone etiquette.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve customer complaints and billing inquiries tactfully and efficiently.
- Organization: High attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal teams and external clients.
