Brighten Life Home Health is looking for a Biller to join our team in Salt Lake City!
Responsibilities to include processing and collecting insurance billing for both home health and hospice.
Responsibilities:
- Authorization: Request, review, and follow up with Medicaid authorization. At times me be asked to help with other payers as needed.
- Rate Changes: Ensure all rates are correct within the billing software. Entry of new Insurance rates with new contracts and changes.
- Billing Claims: Employee will bill according to the outlines billing schedule. Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software through electronic and paper claim processing.
- Claim Follow-Up: Employee will provide claim follow up timely, contact insurance providers through phone and online review of outstanding claims. Follow processes timely to prevent and reduce outstanding claims and AR.
- Claim Research & Adjustments: Outstanding claims will be researched and reviewed until the AR payer has been relieved. Billed will process refunds and adjustments accordingly. All adjustments will be reviewed with the President prior to making an adjustment and approved.
- Claim payment: Biller will collect the payment EOB and process payment as indicated for patients dates of service. Payments which are not equal to outstanding AR will be researched and reprocessed for refunds, additional payments requests, or adjustment needs.
- Communication: Employee will need to have effective communication with all payers to resolve outstanding issues. Employee will also need to work effectively with staff and office personnel to resolve issues for billing.
- Ancillary Entry: Data entry of ancillary charges within the billing software for month end close.
- Aging review: Complete monthly aging for facilities and attends aging review meetings when necessary.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to policies and procedures, including documentation and reporting responsibilities.
- Adhere to code of conduct and business ethics policy.
- Other duties as assigned. Attend training as assigned and requested.
- May work remote as long as workload is completed timely and maintained.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years billing experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from two year college or university; or two or more years related experience and/or training or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in excel
- Basic understanding of computer technology including email, outlook, and teams.
