What you will do
- Lead and coordinate the billing team, manage workloads, allocate resources, and oversee smooth work transitions.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and issuance of client invoices in line with client deadlines and the firm’s accounting close calendar.
- Manage complex client billing arrangements, Outside Counsel Guidelines, e-billing challenges, rejected invoices, unapplied balances, and bill-packet preparation.
- Monitor operating metrics, identify bottlenecks, escalate issues, and coordinate with revenue-cycle functions including pricing, e-billing, accounts receivable, and revenue management.
- Improve billing accuracy and efficiency by evaluating processes, implementing best practices, and monitoring compliance with accounting policies.
- Recruit, train, supervise, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for billing staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience with significant operational and supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication with senior management and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience in a law firm or other professional-services firm.
- Experience with eBilling Hub and electronic billing vendor sites.
- Experience with Elite 3E.
