Your mission

  • Construire une base de connaissances structurée des vulnérabilités du cancer pertinentes pour la conception de nouveaux payloads d’ADC ;
  • Analyser les dépendances associées aux principales caractéristiques biologiques (hallmarks) du cancer à travers différents types de tumeurs et sous-groupes moléculaires ;
  • Étudier des mécanismes tels que le stress réplicatif, la dépendance aux voies de réparation de l’ADN, la reprogrammation métabolique, la résistance à la mort cellulaire et les dépendances spécifiques à certaines lignées cellulaires ;
  • Identifier des médicaments approuvés, des composés en développement clinique ou des molécules abandonnées pouvant être repositionnés comme payloads alternatifs pour les ADC ;
  • Participer à la définition de critères de priorisation intégrant la justification biologique, la sélectivité tumorale, la pertinence translationnelle et la compatibilité avec les ADC ;

  • Une revue structurée des vulnérabilités du cancer pertinentes pour la conception de payloads alternatifs pour les ADC ;
  • Une liste priorisée de mécanismes, voies biologiques ou composés candidats susceptibles d’être repositionnés comme payloads ;
  • Un cadre d’analyse reliant les contextes tumoraux, les biomarqueurs et les hypothèses de vulnérabilité aux opportunités de développement de payloads ;
  • Des synthèses concises ainsi que des supports visuels et/ou tabulaires facilitant la prise de décision scientifique ;

Your role within a pioneering, rapidly expanding company.

Within the Target & Drug Discovery Data Science Team, we are offering a 6-month internship focused on the identification of new payload opportunities for next-generation antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) in oncology.

ADCs have already transformed treatment in several cancers, but the field still relies heavily on a limited set of payload classes. We are interested in moving beyond this paradigm by exploring how cancer biology can guide the selection of alternative payload mechanisms. In particular, this internship will contribute to a proof-of-concept effort aimed at repurposing existing drugs or advanced compounds as future ADC payloads, with a focus on tumor-selective vulnerabilities.

The intern will work at the interface of cancer biology, translational research, and data science. The main objective will be to identify cancer-specific or lineage-specific dependencies that could support the repurposing of compounds targeting mechanisms. The goal is to build a biologically grounded framework linking tumor contexts, molecular vulnerabilities, and payload hypotheses relevant for ADC development.

Main missions :

The intern will contribute to:

  • building a structured knowledge base of cancer vulnerabilities relevant to ADC payload design;
  • analyzing hallmark-linked dependencies across tumor types and molecular subgroups;
  • investigating mechanisms such as replication stress, DNA repair dependence, metabolic rewiring, cell death resistance, and lineage-specific addictions;
  • identifying approved drugs, clinical-stage compounds, or discontinued molecules that may be suitable for repurposing as alternative ADC payloads;
  • helping define prioritization criteria integrating biological rationale, tumor selectivity, translational relevance, and ADC compatibility;
  • presenting findings in a clear and decision-oriented format for project stakeholders.

Expected deliverables

By the end of the internship, the candidate is expected to contribute to:

  • a structured review of cancer vulnerabilities relevant to alternative ADC payload design;
  • a prioritized list of candidate mechanisms, pathways, or compounds that may be suitable for payload repurposing;
  • a framework linking tumor contexts, biomarkers, and vulnerability hypotheses to payload opportunities;
  • concise summaries and visual or tabular materials supporting scientific decision-making;
  • a final presentation of the proof-of-concept findings and recommendations.

Internship Benefits:

  • Diverses missions
  • Attractive compensation
  • Possibility to work one day remotely per week after one month of integration
  • Product allowances
  • Company Restaurant or Meal Vouchers

The internship will take place on our site Langlade, Toulouse (31) and start on february 2027.

Please indicate your availability dates in your CV.

Interested candidates should submit their CV and a cover letter detailing their experience and qualifications for this internship. The Target & Drug Discovery Data Science Team manager is Andrea Del Cortona, who also will supervise the intern. We look forward to welcoming a new intern to our passionate and innovative team at Pierre Fabre.
