Reporting to the VP, Service Delivery - DI, the Biomed Field Service Technician performs technical work in the installation, repair, preventative maintenance and calibration of OEM medical devices or systems. Performs technical inspections and documents and maintains accurate records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and work performed on all equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and unplanned maintenance and perform any required equipment upgrades. Install and de-install OEM equipment, performing site inspections and/or interacting with customers and contractors as needed. Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through service excellence. Complete expense reports and submit them within the established guidelines of the department. Train customers on basic operation and use of medical devices. Respond to customer inquiries in written form (with managerial approval), in person, or via telephone as needed and with urgency. Escalate customer issues and unresolved product problems to service management in a comprehensive and timely manner following the established escalation protocol. Promote service contract offerings and assist Sales in selling service agreements to customers within your assigned territory Observes and promotes Probo’s standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity. Complete within the metric requirement: Ensure accurate and timely completion of records of all installations and deinstallations, repairs and maintenance and of all regulatory compliance paperwork Manage inventory, keep accurate records, and return unused and failed parts promptly. Perform PM’s on time, provide expeditious on-site response and minimize equipment downtime. Requirements Required Education and Experience: Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, biomedical technology, electrical engineering or equivalent. Military equivalency is also acceptable. Previous mechanical or electronics work experience, either in a field service, hospital-based or military setting. Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, software operating systems., and network technology. Previous experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based service process. Familiarity with the use of common electronic test equipment including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers. Previous experience with or ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, illustrated parts diagrams and technical manuals of biomedical and imaging instrumentation. Valid driver’s license, good driving record and must be able to pass a motor vehicle record check. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Must be able to adhere to hospital credentialing requirements upon request. Customer requirements to allow admission into its facilities to perform job duties will include but are not limited to drug testing and immunizations as dictated by the customer or facility policy. Ability to resolve problems, think analytically, work independently and communicate professionally. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime, often on short notice.. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS The position will require the ability to travel, up to 80% of the time.
